Supported Theatres and Venues
The Valentine Theatre is a 901-seat facility operated by the Toledo Cultural Arts Center, Inc. The Toledo Cultural Arts Center, a non-profit organization that produces and provides cultural and performing arts experiences for diverse audiences of all ages, to enhance the quality of the cultural and economic life of the City of Toledo, Lucas County, Northwestern Ohio, and Southeast Michigan.
A classical concert hall whose name means “an area surrounded by columns,” the Peristyle’s most distinguishing architectural feature is a curving row of 28 Ionic columns, which surround the main seating area, arranged in tiers reminiscent of theaters of ancient Greece. Inspired by a Greek agora, the two-story Peristyle lobby is animated by a painted Greek frieze.
The Peristyle seats 1,750 and was designed with an innovative suspended acoustical ceiling that appears to be open to the sky. Along with house lights that can change from the light of day to the deep blue sky of evening, the theater was engineered to be as acoustically perfect as possible, resulting in a space that provides a marvelous concert experience.
The Stranahan opened in 1969 as the Masonic Auditorium and has hosted hundreds of entertaining shows since then. It was acquired in 1994 by the Stranahan family (of Champion Spark Plug fame) to protect and preserve it on behalf of the greater Toledo community and future generations. Today, it is owned by the Stranahan Theater Trust, a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation.
The Stranahan Theater boasts the largest proscenium stage theater in NW Ohio/SE Michigan, with seating for 2,424, and offers about 170 shows per year. It has been successful in bringing major dramas, shows, and musicals to NW Ohio and has thousands of season ticket holders.
Originally, Findlay High School, the building was constructed in 1925 on the historic site of the first Findlay field office for the Ohio Oil Company, which would grow into the international company better known today as Marathon Petroleum Corporation.
The Donnell Theatre seats 969.
Crouse Performance Hall has hosted a multitude of shows in its 30+ years including the “Broadway in Lima” series which has brought top-quality Broadway tours to town.
The 1,774-seat proscenium theatre offers performers a wide stage area for the most elaborate set designs to the simplest stage set-ups. The loading doors are conveniently located just left of the stage for easy set up and tear down of sets. Crouse Performance Hall also offers multiple dressing rooms equipped with mirrors, wardrobe racks, rest rooms and showers. All these help to provide visiting performers comfort and convenience to put on a great show!
Lucas County’s attraction, the 105 million dollar state-of-the-art Huntington Center is located in downtown Toledo, Ohio. The ground breaking on the 8,000 plus seat multi-purpose arena began October 1, 2007. Huntington Center utilizes both indoor and outdoor areas around the facility. There are 20 private suites and 750 prestige club seats as well as a club-level lounge, a banquet facility, a team merchandise store and a modern scoreboard.
Huntington Center is one of the nation’s first LEED certified professional sports arena.
Toledo's Glass City Center, formerly Seagate Centre, first opened in 1987 and has hosted hundreds of national and regional conventions, trade shows, athletic competitions, expos, fundraisers and weddings.
In 2020, the transformative $70 million expansion and renovation began. It was renamed the Glass City Center to pay homage to Toledo's recognition as the "glass capital of the world". The entire facility has been renovated, upgraded and reimagined with advanced technology throughout. The expansion added on the new 16,000 sq.ft Grand Ballroom which opened in late August 2022.
